We decided to focus on greys some years ago, when grey animals were quite rare, and we recognised quite quickly that it would be difficult to readily find sufficient top quality grey males to enhance our breeding programme within the distance we could travel with a female (and possibly her cria) for a mating. Hence, despite being a small breeder, we decided that we would look to accommodate some of our own stud males here at Rosecraddoc - but only very select animals of the highest quality and top genetics, carefully selected for what they can contribute to our breeding programme.
Inca Grey Bounty was chosen as our foundation grey male. His sire is The Chief of Bozedown, the most renowned grey herdsire in the UK, and Bounty himself is a stunning mid-grey male with an impeccable show record (SWAG Champion, Futurity Reserve Champion). He has stamped his excellent conformation, fleece qualities and colour on his offspring (even from non-grey dams) and the majority of them have been show quality. Bounty is still with us today.
Patou Wasimba joined us in 2016 - a stunning rose grey male with good grey genetics who we thought, as well as introducing some fabulous fleece qualities and wonderful conformation, would also strengthen our Australian genetics. And we haven't been disappointed - his first cria are on the ground and are replicas of him.
Our most recent addition is Inca Grey Jameson and we are very excited about this male. We first saw him at the 2017 Nationals, where he won 1st Intermediate Grey Male. He is not only a strong boned animal, with a highly productive and very abundant fleece but has a pedigree staked with some of the greatest grey genetics available.
